Are fabric markers washable?

Fabric markers contain permanent ink that is designed to not wash out of clothing or fade over time. If you would like to put a piece of clothing that you designed in the washing machine, you can! Just wait 24 hours after painting to wash to make sure that the fabric marker ink has completely dried.

Do the fabric markers bleed through fabric?

If you hold them down, then they will bleed. To avoid bleeding, don’t hold your marker down for an extended period of time and keep writing.

What is the difference between a Sharpie and a fabric marker?

Fabric markers are meant to be used on fabric, so they glide easily when you are drawing. Sharpies will sometimes jump or skip when drawing on fabric, which leaves breaks in your strokes. Sharpies are more likely to bleed through to the other side of the fabric. To protect your design, you might have to use clear fabric paint on sharpie where with fabric markers you don’t have to worry about it washing away.
